Our Identity
The name "Meren" is rooted in a nautical term that signifies the mooring of a vessel as it enters a dock. Drawing from the spirit of maritime legends who set sail in pursuit of new worlds and opportunities, Meren reflects the company’s ambition to identify and unlock potential in offshore energy.
Corporate History
Meren was incorporated under the BC BCA on March 29, 1993 under the name ‘Canmex Minerals Corporation’. The Company later operated as Africa Oil Corp. until its rebrand to Meren in May 2025, a milestone that reflects the strategic evolution and renewed vision of the business.
